What starts out as simply another mission on the way to freedom becomes so much more for Nola as she weighs loyalty to her bosses against her emerging feelings for ‘the mark.’ Tarrant’s desire to outplay his opponent and gain his secret objective fails to take into account the emotions mere civilians feel, given that he has spent his entire life in the pursuit of emotionless combat.

Ms Gardner has written a powerfully seductive tale of intrigue, lust, and longing within the escapades of these two strong, independent characters. The author hooks her readers from the first page, drawing them in to discover 'what next.' Nola and Tarrant’s character development as the story unfolds to its gripping conclusion, not to mention the sizzling heat between the two, makes this book well worth the read. Ms Gardner’s inventively sensual imagination springs to life within the pages of this book as her characters experience the heights of passion and self-discovery.
