Viscountess Cassandra Braxton Reddington needs to get pregnant so she can keep her home and money. Her dead husband was an evil man with a very sick sexual appetite. Cassandra knew she would have to find a man who is a scoundrel and would only care for the sexual side of their relationship. Cassandra picked Mark Foxwood, never dreaming that she would risk losing a lot more than her home.

Mark Foxwood is still reeling from the fact the woman he loved is not who he thought she was at all, and she is now married to someone else. So when beautiful Cassandra comes to him, he makes a deal with her, sex anytime and any way he wants it, and she could have him as a stud. Mark is sure he can do this, after all, he does not have a heart left to be broken.

Mark cannot get over how honest and straight forward Cassandra is. Cassandra cannot get over Mark being a caring and gentle man. As both went into this agreement, neither knew that they would find a kindred spirit. But before they get to know each other, someone tries to kill Cassandra, and before they know it, Cassandra and Mark are on a quest to finish what Cassandra’s husband started. When both Mark and Cassandra face their past, will they be able to make a future together?

With a taste of Susan Johnson, Ms. Violet has penned a superb historical romance filled with fast paced action, dangerous adventure, and of course sizzling hot love scenes. Ms. Violet makes her characters come alive with a strong steady dialog and real emotion. Put all this together with a mind blowing plot and you have one sensational read. I was absolutely captivated by this tale, and look forward to more of Ms. Violet’s work.
