Vegas Knightsen is a young black woman with a couple of hard-earned degrees after her name, living in Los Angeles. She is a take no prisoners, ball busting gal who happens to love purple and gold and just happens to have a fire pole in her newly renovated firehouse bedroom.

Sean Lodi lives in Northern California and is the exact opposite of his brothers still living with him instead of back in Southern Alabama. He prefers the quiet and scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest and besides his bike business in Discovery Bay, he is content to never go south to Los Angeles again.

Sean and Vegas are both the oddballs in their families. Coming from opposite directions in life -- can Vegas with her big Ducati Monster bike possibly get along with simple living Sean and his laid-back style? Even though he has a military background and a Mechanical Engineering degree to go with his chopper business and the Hummer he loves to drive, can these two make it on the highways and dirt bike paths of life and maybe even into the marriage market barring brothers and others?

I had a hard time getting into this book from the get-go up to the part where Sean was introduced. Then it was more cohesive, and I could follow along a lot better. Not like the first part where the slang and the Vegas ramblings keep you off tangent. I finally got into it and fairly enjoyed it, but some of the Vegas scenes keep you slightly off kilter. If you like southern biker boys and feisty kick butt sassy women then you will probably enjoy this. This is the first in the Unexpected Encounter series and makes you wonder if one of the brothers will be next.
