Alaric Mason has fallen in love with Theona, daughter of Baron Kelrak. Nevertheless,
their forbidden relationship could ultimately kill him, unless other forces get him first.
Finding himself with a magical sword is not something he envisioned in his life.

Theona is not in love with Alaric although she thinks that she is. Together, for the sake
of being together, she has left behind everything she has known to find a hidden
treasure that will enable her to live the life she wants.

Throughout this book there are twists and turns, some beneficial, others that are not.  
Searching for a reason to these unanswered questions, take Alaric and those that travel
with him on a bumpy ride. Alaric has never known why he was chosen for a task that
seems impossible.  Along the way, he finds that sometimes things are not what they
seem and that love does not always run true.  He also learns that friendships are worth
more when you do not realize they are there. A fantastic read for me.
