This the beginning of a four book series known as “The Last Man Standing” where four men put money into a cup to see who will be the next man to succumb to the fatal love match. Ms. Alexander did a sensational job with the first in the series, as these characters are really well conceived and have plenty of history and depth. Beautifully described, this author makes you feel you are right there with the characters in that era. Wickedly sensual love scenes top off this fascinating story completing it. An exceptional read.
