| ANGEL CITY BARBARA SHERIDAN ISBN# 1-905393-27-X January 2006 Linden Bay Romance, LLC.U.S. www.lindenbayromance.com E-Book $5.49 136 Pages Contemporary Rating: Carol Bakker is devoted to her animal family and her daily charges at the day care centre she runs during the day. To supplement her income she waits tables at Angel City, a strip club where her best friend Terry works as a stripper. When Terry begs her to fill in for her at a private bachelor party, she hesitates at the idea, but eventually gives in. After the performance she is saved from the drunken groping of the groom by a gentleman named R.J. Mansfield. R.J Mansfield is the best man for Bradley Davis, the well known writer. Attending the bachelor party, he observes his friends getting steadily more drunk and their behavior towards the stripper steadily raunchier. He notices the stripper seems a little uncomfortable with the jeers and catcalls, and thinks her discomfort is unusual for a stripper, and wonders about her circumstances. Carol and R.J. begin a tentative friendship, despite the obvious differences in their financial backgrounds and upbringing. Carol feels like she is out of her league with the debonair financier, while R.J. tries to convince himself that her upbringing does not count. Will love conquer these differences? Ms. Barbara Sheridan has written a delightful tale of love overcoming money or the lack there of. The heroine shows a strong sense of independence which most readers can identify with. The hero, being from a rich family, shows the typical maneuvering abilities that come with wealth, which often does not take in to consideration other’s wishes. His comeuppance and his reaction to it are a nice surprise. I really enjoyed this book. Kathy Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance Reviewer for Karen Find Out About New Books |
