Megan Mulcahey is an American newspaper reporter who has relocated to London to seek justice for her brother’s death. Assuming the role of tutor to Constantine and Alexander Moreland, she sets out to prove Theo Moreland guilty of the crime and make him pay. But the more she familiarizes herself with him; she begins to have doubts about his guilt.

Theo Moreland, Lord Raine, loves adventure and being outdoors, often living dangerously, not gathering around a crowd of people at elegant parties. He is not one to venture into love or romance until he meets Megan and his life suddenly changes.

After her sister, Deirdre wakes from a dream, exclaiming that she saw their dead brother, Dennis, Megan informs it was only a bad dream. Megan and her father know that Deirdre has always had a slight connection to the paranormal and her father is certain it is a sign that after all these years. Revenge must be taken upon Theo Mooreland, and Megan must pursue the man and make him pay. Megan leaves for London, trading in her journalist cap to become tutor to his twins, in hopes of getting justice for her brother’s death. Ten years ago, Theo was in South America with Dennis seeking treasure, who else would have better motive to kill her brother and secure the booty? However, someone wants to make sure the past stays buried. She begins to wonder if she can really destroy Theo, when he could possibly be innocent. Theo is smitten with the young governess who has taken the role of tutoring the younger twin siblings. He has no idea that the beautiful Megan, who has entered his home under false pretense to ruin him. But when he learns the truth, he sets out to prove her wrong.

An Unexpected Pleasure has all the elements to make one delicious read. Megan is spirited, lively and stands up to Theo, no matter what he cast her way. I love their banter, especially when she confronted him concerning her brother. I could practically see the expression in their faces as they spoke, especially with Theo. Their emotions engage the reader in this gripping read and the chemistry between the two leaps from the pages. Ms. Camp instills incredible action, romance, some mystery, and a sprinkle of humor in this captivating story that had this reader eagerly flipping the pages. The tossing in of the ‘little twins’ was clever, as well. This is an invigorating read, with a touch of paranormal that is delightfully charming.
