Jacqueline Montacute was out for revenge. She wanted to hurt the man who killed her twin brother William. But to her horror and surprise the man responsible for her brother’s death was her own Father the Earl of Salisbury. So she came up with a plan to joust against him, teaching him a lesson, and getting retribution for what he did to her brother.

Sir Terric Aubrey is a tournament knight. Meaning he is a landless knight who made his way by winning tournaments. At one such event he met another knight, or so he thought. Who he really met was Jacqueline pretending to be her dead twin brother, practicing for her chance to meet her father in the lists. Terric agrees to help Jacqueline prepare for her chance at her father.

From the very beginning Jacqueline and Terric’s passions will not be denied. They cannot keep from wanting to share each others bodies. When Jacqueline finally gets the chance to go up against her father, he figures out her little game and treates her to a game of his own. On the day Jacqueline is to marry Terric her father secrets her away and marries her to another man. With all hope lost to the young lovers, they start to rebuild their lives. But neither can give into to the idea that they will not be together. How can the fates be that cruel?

A Tournament Knight is such a wonderful blend of love, suspense, and mystery. This story is so well written that it sucks you right in from the very beginning. I really enjoyed reading this book, and hated to see it end. The character of Jacqueline is such a strong female that you just know she is not going to take things lying down. This is such a wonderful story, and I highly recommend it to readers that love historical romances.
