If you had told Maggie Donovan that she was destined to be the next Faery Queen, she would have fallen over laughing. Unfortunately she is not laughing now, and what used to be a nice, quiet (okay, maybe a little dull) life, is now chaos in the extreme.
He has been waiting for centuries to find the ‘one,’ and now that she is here, Culhane is ready to begin her training. He has been a Fae warrior for millennia, fought more battles and killed more demons than he can remember, but one day in Maggie’s presence, and he is ready to pull his hair out.
Maggie likes her life as a window painter in the small town of Castle Bay, California. She enjoys the normalcy of the quiet little seaside community, but that normalcy is shattered when demons and faeries become part of her existence. Now she must fight a queen she does not know, save a world that is not her own, and resist the all-consuming attraction for an arrogant Fae warrior. Culhane must prod, pull, and generally bully Maggie into realizing her destiny if they are to succeed, but never in all of his existence has he been more frustrated or aroused by one crazy female.
Okay, take a deep breath, maybe do some side stretches, and get ready to laugh your *** off! Maggie is one of the most hilarious, and I am certain we can ADD-challenged, women I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. She never shuts up, does not give an inch, and will keep Culhane on his toes for all eternity. He does not stand a chance, and I cannot wait to see how she continues to drive him crazy in Ms. Child’s next book, “Beguiled.”
