Rosemarie Walkner is a freelance journalist who writes human interest stories for the
Jehovah's Witness Magazine. When her best friend Zara is murdered, she vows to find
her killer. At the funeral she notices a handsome man who places a huge bouquet of
roses amongst the other flower tributes. Later she finds out that this man had designed
several greeting cards for her friend. Coincidentally, the cards all have roses as their
major artwork.
Detective Colin Baker is approached by Rosemarie concerning her friend's murder,
and he informs her of his involvement with the case of the Rose Killer. Having suspected
the man with the roses and identifying him as Jonathon Flowers, he enlists her help in
finding evidence against him. Admiring her willingness, he cautions her to be careful.
Rosemarie and Detective Baker try to gather evidence against Jonathon, and in the
process they grow closer. During this time they learn of the possible murder of Jonathon’
s older sister. When Jonathon proposes marriage to Rosemarie, Detective Baker
convinces her to continue the ruse. Will they ever be able to convict Jonathon of the
Rose Killings?
Ms. Linda Hyde has written a page turner full of twists and turns that kept me entertained
throughout. The heroine displays her vulnerability while showing an amazing amount of
strength. The hero, in his determination to find the truth, shows his tenacity. The
conclusion is a complete surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
