Jessie McQuade is a small town cop in Miniwa, Wisconsin.  Her whole world changes
when her dispatcher sends her on a call.  As the first cop on the scene, she finds a
woman sitting in her vehicle, parked in the middle of the road.  The women, Karen, had
hit a wolf, and the wolf had bitten her. Jessie found a totem necklace in the road that has
a tiny wolf in the center of it. She starts tracking the wolf into the woods, but instead,
finds a very handsome naked man in the bushes.  

Then next day, Jessie decides to go check up on Karen at the elementary school.   
When she enters the classroom, she finds other woman with red foam coming out of her
mouth and preparing to bite a student, while the principal lays dead on the floor.  Jessie
does not believe in legends, but her world is about to change.

The naked man is Professor Will Cadotte and he is a Native American activist working
at the college as an expert in the Native American totems.  The second time she meets
him, he has on all of his clothes.  He tells her the totem is an Ojibwe Wolf Clan totem,
and they will do anything to get it back, since it has spiritual powers and magic. Jessie
and Will cannot keep their hands off each other and the Blue Moon is coming.  

Edward Mandenauer has been hired to kill a mad wolf because it keeps attacking and
killing the town's people, along with the summer tourists.  While training Jessie how to
hunt and kill them with silver bullets, he begins to tell her about the differences between
the wolf and a werewolf.   Will Jessie know who to trust or will she become one of the
wolves she hunts?

Ms. Handeland writes a delightful, fast paced story that will keep you guessing. Each
character was well written and they have a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to
read Hunter's Moon, the second book in this series.
