Mariah Mattison is the weather girl for the Baltimore TV station and seeks a relaxing vacation. When an open invitation for a two-week Bahamas charter becomes available, she jumps at the chance.
Captain Simon Hatcher, master sailor and yacht deliverer, takes over his late father’s marina. He has trouble locating any of his father’s receipts or backup documentation. He soon learns that trying to even maintain a marina is hard work but trying to sell the business was harder.
The ad called for an opening for a Bahamas Cruise and Mariah could not pass up the opportunity. The two weeks away would be a most welcome change. After boarding, things do not appear as they will be fun, then things shift, almost like the changing of the wind, and she begins spending time with Simon. Just when Simon gets ready to cancel some pending charters, Mariah and her friends board are not taking no for an answer. Simon knows he could use the money so he does not turn them down, unaware that he and Mariah will be drawn together. As Mariah learns about Simon, she discovers things about herself as Simon teaches her many lessons of love she never knew. When it is time to say goodbye, she does not know if she can easily cut the reins that he holds on her heart.
Blue Water is an entertaining read, with an intriguing cover, that carries the reader into breathtaking believable chartered waters with likeable characters. The detailed scenery and the emotions of Mariah and Simon are engaging. Ms. Hunter pens a remarkable read that captivates from the beginning. I could practically feel the whole ambience of the story. The elements of the voodoo and deep diving scenarios are a great addition that this reader thoroughly found fascinating in this keeper.
