Horror
Sabrina Osterling is a beautiful woman who hides her looks. She eats health foods and has unique ideas on life. Her views are stern, allowing little room for compromise.
Jackson Rutledge is a sports writer who is looking to change the genre of his writing. His outlook on life is more relaxed than Ms. Osterling’s, but that could be because he has lived more; had more tragedy in his life. Or has he?
Both people are interested in purchasing the Huntley mansion, a home that was once occupied by an eccentric father and his strange daughters. It is advertised with a guarantee to be haunted. And it is that guarantee that has attracted both Sabrina and Jackson. Since neither Jackson nor Sabrina can afford the purchase price on their own, they decide to buy the place together and each live in a separate wing - much as the sisters did when they were alive. What Jackson and Sabrina end up buying is the adventure of their lives.
T.K. Sheils has woven a romance within a horror story. While we smile as we watch the romance bloom, we shiver in fear. Mr. Sheils remembered that one of the most important things to a great story are memorable characters and The Butterfly House has a few of them. His imagery is great, I felt the cold of the Ontario climate heightened by the supernatural occurrences happening within the house. This is not a book for the faint of heart!
