Erik and his partner follow Victoria home and begin setting her up to get the information they need out of her--by any means necessary.

As a registered genius, Victoria's brain sometimes gets in her way. She can figure out complex mathematical computations, but not how to keep from dropping, spilling, tripping and, in general, making herself a walking disaster. Determined to get out of the predictable rut she has been in, she invites the ridiculously handsome plumber to dinner. He is hot, entertaining, and does not mind when she accidentally ruins his clothing.

When Victoria is accosted and Erik realizes she is really an innocent victim, it may be too late to expect Victoria to trust him. Quitting her previous high-security job had necessitated an extended association with the NSB, and it had not turned out well for Victoria's self-esteem. She did not trust them; did not want them in her life for any reason. Too bad she is already falling for this particular nuisance.

Ms. Attalla has written a fun little story with all the elements that kept me wrapped up until the final page with mystery, intrigue, interesting characters, and a hot and sexy hero. The lead characters have enough life experience to keep them relatable for me, and the secondary cast has a variety of amusing contributors. I will probably read this one again and enjoy it just as much the second time around.
