| COFFEE, TEA OR LEA? ANN WESLEY HARDIN ISBN # 1-84360-785-9 August 2005 Ellora’s Cave www.ellorascave.com E-Book $4.45 108 pages Romantic Comedy/Contemporary Rating: Free spirited flight attendant, Lea Harding, refuses to be tied down. She wants to live free of the responsibilities that have weighed on her for most of her life. From her parents to her brother, everyone depends on her. She is not adverse to a little serial monogamy, as she calls it. Coop Masterson is an air marshal with the term Type A practically branded on his forehead. He promised himself he would be a hero in honor of his brother’s memory. Unfortunately, his life is made up of almost saving, and he ends up training heroes, instead of being one. Lea is taking a terrorism defense course. When she first meets Coop, her defenses take a broadside hit. From the start, the duo rubs each another the wrong way. She sees him as an uptight jerk, and he thinks she is a flaky thoroughbred all the way down to her designer shoes. However, once Coop meets her folks, his opinions on Lea take a turn for the better. They move quickly from sand and surf, to terra firma, into a very steamy relationship. Coop wishes to take it farther, but Lea is scared of both commitment and the things that go along with it. Both are burdened with a savior complex so it is a toss up whether they can stop clashing long enough to take that final step. The couple shot sparks off each other from the very beginning of this book. Scorching hot sex coupled with fast and furiously funny dialogue made this a very enjoyable read for me. The characters were real, witty, and most of all, human. The ending also sends the wonderful message that you can be a hero in a lot of different ways.
