Rick Carson has been hired by the Powell Agency to investigate the death of Senator Dan Price. A few family members do not believe the ruling of suicide and want to find out the truth. As Rick investigates he finds many secrets and the number one suspect he has is the senator's widow.
Jordan, Senator Dan Price's widow, has become the prime suspect in what some now believe was murder not suicide. But she is innocent, at least that is her claim. The other men in her life that have died were just accidents. She is not a killer, she says.
If Jordon is not the killer, then who is? As family members rally around to protect her, Rick must dig and find the truth. But the attraction between him and Jordan is growing and the murders are still happening. Is Rick putting his life on the line? Can he trust that Jordan is speaking the truth?
What a suspense filled book! I could not put this down until I finished. I loved all the quirky characters and how they interact throughout the book. The romance is subtle yet an important part of the story. This is the best twist on a black widow story I have ever read. I will be reading more of this author's work. You should too.
