When Lyric Montgomery, pet detective, reads the morning paper one day, she comes
across an article that sparks her psychic awareness, which rarely steers her wrong.
Working for her grandfather's detective agency alongside her sisters and cousins,
enables her to follow up on her hunches and quickly form leads to check on.  When she
contacts Anna Simmons, the victim in the article, little does she know that she will
encounter a veritable wall of opposition in the very sexy form of Anna’s grandson,
Kieran Burke.

Kieran Burke is already upset about his grandmother's assault and theft of her dogs, but
besides that, she has called in a supposed pet detective in the form of Lyric
Montgomery, who he knows by reputation as a hard nut to crack.  He doesn't like his
physical reaction to her one bit.  He believes as a cop, he could find the dogs and not
have to complicate his life with a touch of lust.

So begins the tug of war between two forces of nature. Lyric and Kieran's obvious
sexual attraction leads them to an immediate clash of wills, an ultimate truce and finally,
a power play in the bedroom.

Jory Strong has written a tightly woven story that takes you into the rarely seen world of
animal testing and rights.  The dialogue is believable without being pretentious, the
pace keeps you on your toes and the love scenes are hot and appropriate for story
advancement, while leading to a satisfying conclusion. This reviewer will be looking
forward to the next installment of Crime Tells with baited breath.
