What she does not know at first is that Caleb has been assigned to watch over her in the hope of keeping a Black Dragon from claiming and using the latent power that Lisa is totally unaware she possesses. As Lisa and Caleb learn the secrets of Lisa's existence, and seek to avoid the dragon who could use Lisa's inherited power to destroy the world, they also become more and more enamored of each other. Will they be able to unravel all of the mysteries before them while keeping Lisa safe from harm and possibly develop an everlasting love?

In my opinion, this magnificently awesome novel deserves a book of the year award. It is quite possibly the most creative and unique dragon story I have ever read. Ms. James is already a favorite author of mine, but with this wonderful book she has set her place on my auto buy list forever. Dragon Heat gave me chills of delight with every page read. The characters are fabulous and the plotline is truly extraordinary. I cannot wait for the next book in this series because I must have more! Anyone who enjoys tales of dragons and shapeshifters will want to read this superb story as soon as they can. It is definitely in the cream of the crop.
