Safia Troy was trained to be the best soldier there was in the most horrific fashion. Thrown in a cell and caned for two straight weeks, she was told nothing, given no food, and abused in the most horrific ways. Later she found it was standard procedure to prove she had what it took to become a spy.
Riley Donovan is a soldier who does not leave his men behind, even when told to. On a mission that went sour, he was suddenly saved by an avenging angel with a rocking body, a hot kiss, and weapons that had not even been invented yet. With a cryptic message to watch his back and the people he works for, Safia helps him escape a warzone in a foreign country and then melts into the horizon.
Years later Riley and Safia meet up in Singapore with different assignments that somehow collide. After a near disaster leaves Riley without his main subject, Safia agrees they should work together and get the men they so desperately need to capture. Both suspects are vicious and evil; one deals in weapons and the other makes them. Suddenly the game gets a whole lot more intense when Safia and Riley realize the weapons are children, made into something unexplainable and deadly.
Fight Fire With Fire is a powerful story full of adventure, sensual tension, strong emotions, and severe conditions that would test anyone. Ms. Fetzer takes a spy novel to the next level with her detailed writing, extreme fighting confrontations, and passionate sex scenes. For the most part, this story had a very gripping and edge-of-your-seat feel, although there were a few jerky scenes that had a start-stop effect, leaving me slightly confused as to what was going on. However, with most of the book having an intense and thrilling quality, it is sure to have you in its grasp until the very end.
