Gail is a no holes barred kind of woman. She puts on no airs, telling it like it is. She is a bartender and a lesbian, two things of which she is very proud. She is, however, in love with a woman who is her total opposite.

Julie is completely different from Gail. She is a teacher, raised in a "proper" household where things like being a lesbian are just wrong. Yet that has not stopped Julie from falling for Gail.

These two must face the ultimate firing squad, Julie's family. Julie has hoped her mother's view has changed and that she will accept her relationship with Gail. Julie is stressed and Gail would rather not meet the family, but continues to love Julie in her own way.

This is a simple story of love that knows no boundaries, but can come in many forms. Love between two women and family love; both are so important. This is a story that most people can relate to whether or not one loves the opposite sex or the same sex as it deals with the fact that we must often face the firing squad for someone we love. This is a touching, yet simple read. Great for when you just want a short break.
