Gena Taylor is owner of The Riverside Inn Bed & Breakfast. When Boston’s head news
anchor decides to hold her wedding reception and honeymoon at the Inn, Gena is
certain the publicity and money will be a huge asset for her daughter, Mia for college.
Unfortunately when Kirsten arrives with Travis Ryan as her intended, who happens to be
Gena’s ex-husband, all turns sour.
Travis Ryan is shocked to see Gena hosting his wedding reception. After fifteen years,
why is he facing her again? She once tricked him in marriage by saying she was
pregnant. If only it were that simple, but he never stayed around to hear the real truth.
Now years later, he discovers he has a daughter, Gena is now a mature woman and his
heart is indecisive on this impending marriage.
Gena discovers that the wedding she is to host happens to be with her ex, the father of
her child. When Travis walked out all those years ago, he was certain that Gena had
trapped him in a quickie marriage then had a miscarriage. Now years later he is ready
to marry again when he discovers he has a daughter. The conflict rises with Gena and
Travis, Mia, the daughter, and the new fiancée, Kirsten. The tension is tight with hurt
abounding for many but who will really come out winning once the dirt hits the fan?
Shannon Stacey writes a story with a good solid plot and entertains with friction
between the characters that leaves the reader mesmerized. After fifteen years of being
hurt, the reader feels the passion, the broken heart and everything the characters
experience. It is a story of letting go and learning to love again. Ms. Stacey gives her
characters strength and also shows them human. Ms. Stacey pens a story that will touch
you in so many ways. Her style of writing is excellent by far with a story so well written
with all the elements that make it believable that I give it a 5-cup rating.
