Sarah Jessup is a computer crime investigator for the Norfolk police department in Virginia. A former hacker, her connections with the slightly illegal side of the law make her skills invaluable. When she lived in New York, she always found it ironic that she was breaking the law hacking for the federal government, the very people trying to uphold it. Loving her work and now actually making a decent living, it is hard for her to relax and do just nothing. So her boss demanded she take a vacation sans PC, PDA, and cell phone. Envisioning a boring time, she checks in at the Chesapeake Inn and spies a handsome man. Ignoring her physical reaction to him she introduces herself and promptly dismisses him from her mind.

Logan Sullivan, a Baltimore Maryland police detective, checks in at the Inn intent on investigating his partner’s disappearance and the sudden appearance of pornographic material with her in it. Having been suspended from the force for voicing his objections to the higher-up's beliefs that his partner had been a willing participant, he vows to find her. After being introduced to a statuesque beauty he settles in to participate in the typical tourist attractions by day and search the World Wide Web at night. Giving no more thought to the intriguing woman, he begins his search.

Sarah and Logan begin an uneasy alliance after a late night encounter filled with alcohol and a romantic walk along a moonlit beach. Logan, curious about Sarah’s obvious attraction and then her sudden withdrawal to his advances, vows to find out why. Sarah,
having her own hang-ups about sex and having had a bad experience with the material she now investigates, is touched by Logan’s patience and genuine concern. They both are determined to enjoy each other’s company for the vacation's duration. Their sexual chemistry is undeniable.  Will their chosen vocations clash with their new found feelings?

Ms. Samantha Hunter has written an exciting novel full of action, passion, and intrigue. The heroine shows us that women can handle their own in a police setting while looking gorgeous to boot. The hero shows he can be tender and sensitive without losing his manly appeal. The heated clashes between the two only add to the passion in their sexual encounters. The conclusion is both happy and sad. I really enjoyed this book from cover to cover.
