GHOST OF A CHANCE
Paranormal Romantic Comedy
Rating: 4 Cups
Jessica Ballinger considers her secretary job mundane, believing secretaries the toilet paper of the world. Not long after finding a great pair of shoes, she is knifed in the back.
Deacon Chance has been given the gift to see spirits. Now he has one practically attached to him that does not plan on leaving.
Jessica is perturbed. She was told once a person died, they saw a bright light afterwards. Not her, she has yet to see any light after she is killed. She does get a handsome detective at the crime scene, whom she wishes she had met one day earlier. Her murder is one of a series of murders that has hit the city of Fort Worth. She is surprised that Deacon, the detective can see her. He wishes Jessica would just move on toward the light. He soon learns that even in death, Jessica may be in jeopardy in the midst of a battle between Holy Angels and Fallen ones involving a Biblical prophecy. It all points to a fallen angel that possibly is going around killing people or some forgotten woman that may have never existed. Demonic angels are way out of Deacon’s league but he has to find a way to save Jessica before the prophecy plays a hand in her death.
Ghost of a Chance is a dynamic read. Jessica is a well-rounded character with a feisty spitfire attitude. The dialogue is superb, often seasoned with wit that keeps the story moving at a great pace. I love how she melts every time she glances at Deacon. Great chemistry, likeable characters and impacted intrigue makes this one heavenly read. J. Morgan crafts a story that I definitely did not want to end. I would love to see more stories involving Jessica and Deacon.
