Kincaid was dead. That is all that matters to Cade Brody. It is all he wanted. Now is his chance to leave his past behind. Moving to the small town of Eustace, he only wants to make a new life and keep to himself.
Sabrina Edmonds is a widow and runs the store in Eustace. The minute she lays eyes on Cade, she knows there is something more between them. She does what she can to bring him out of his shell and will continue until she has what she wants; him.
Cade never thought he would feel anything for a woman other than the need for a quick release. But now that he has met Sabrina, he has a feeling he is in territory he knows nothing about and that scares him. When things go farther than he had planned, he definitely knows he is in trouble. Sabrina, on the other hand, has to deal with the warnings her sister keeps giving her and a jealous mill owner who feels she is his possession. When Cade's past comes to town though, Sabrina steps up and is willing to fight for the man she loves. But Cade has other ideas and refuses to let her die for him. Will the town of Eustace finally accept Cade as one of their own, or will they let him die?
Ms. Williamson has written an exciting story laced with humor. I loved the dark, broody Cade. He is the perfect ex-gunslinger looking for a new life. Sabrina is feisty and full of life and determination. But I cannot overlook the supporting characters who are just as lively. I loved this book so much I read it in just under an hour. This is a page turner to be sure and a keeper.
