when she is with Mitch Brooker.
Mitch Brooker is the groundskeeper who cannot tell a daylily from a weed. Handsome,
fun, and a little too over the top, he is definitely not the type of man Callie needs in her
life. Not to mention he has more than enough on his mind. Unfortunately for him, Callie
becomes all he can think about.
Mitch is up to something and even though every thought in Callie’s mind tells her to stay
away, she cannot resist. Home for her sister’s whirlwind wedding, Callie finds things
going from bad to worse as crisis after crisis pushes her firmly into big sister mode,
taking care of everything and everyone. All the while, she wonders about her attraction
to Mitch and if he is even worth the trouble.
Ms. Darryl has written a novel that is so fun, so well paced and well formed, that while I
read as quickly as I could to find out what was going to happen next. I did not want it to
end. The characters are sly and witty, the plot is devilishly twisted, with enough red
herrings and twists and turns to keep you guessing, and the chemistry between Mitch
and Callie is focused and searing. I cannot tell you enough to read this book.
