She knows it is not a good idea to stay with him, but realizes she cannot survive the long journey ahead of her without his help. On their trek to Mungan's, they face danger at almost every turn and get a surprise handed to them that Tavig never knew about. With things seemingly falling down around them, will their love for each other be strong enough to keep them together?

Highland Fire is proof once again why Hannah Howell is an award winning author. I love this latest in her Scottish stories. Her characters are well developed and the Scotland she paints for her readers is very real. She takes her readers on a suspenseful ride and throws in a few surprises as well. Ms. Howell continues to write well rounded novels that have kept her fans coming back for more. I for one will put this book on my shelf and read it again.
