Dr. Kate Wexford is assistant head of ER at a hospital in Atlanta. One night while touring a museum, she stumbles across a painting of Darach MacTavish. From that point Kate is unable to stop thinking about and lusting for the man. While viewing the portrait she finds herself flung into the picture, and awakens to discover she is lying naked in the bed of Darach with him standing there.

Darach MacTavish, Laird of Glenagan, died over 250 years ago in the battle of Culloden. He is a devilishly handsome man who has no problem bedding the ladies. What a pleasant surprise for him when he finds a naked Kate in his bed. He believes she is daft because she thinks she is from the future. Darach is fighting with the English and believes Kate could be the enemy.

Kate learns that she and Darach are the conduits to return her to the future. They learn that Kate has traveled back in time because of her strong desire for Darach. In addition, she is there to help him discover how to prevent his death and that of his clan. Kate finds Darach arrogant, but sexy, and even though she desires him, she attempts to deny her feelings. Darach has a cocky attitude and a great lust for Kate. Everything looks bleak for them, but in the end, love prevails.

This time travel story is one of the best I have ever read. It has great elements; hot sex, humor, and adventure, to name a few. These two are exhilarating together and sparks fly off them. At one point, their love appears doomed, but like all great love stories, everything works out. This is a story you will most definitely want to read.
