Amanda Santorelli is the assistant to the CEO of a major construction company and
goes about her day in comfortable no-nonsense shoes and suits one size too big for
her. Her appearance causes all kinds of snickering behind her back until her wacky aunt
casts a spell that has her speaking her mind to all who ask. When her boss takes notice
of the dramatic difference, he realizes she is actually an attractive woman. And that is
where the trouble begins.
Mark Abbott is Amanda’s boss and his office routine runs smoothly, thanks to her.
Having been burned by a former fiancée, he keeps his business and personal lives
separate. When Amanda starts standing up for herself he takes notice and finds he
looks forward to hearing what else she has to say. Will her behavior make him take a
second look at his assistant?
Amanda finally tells Mark about her aunt’s spell and they set out to bring back the
peaceful life they are used to. In the process, Mark comes to know a lot more about
Amanda and finds he likes her new forthright behavior better than her old mousy one.
Ms. Teresa Roblin has written a delightful book about office romance. I quickly became
enmeshed in the love lives of both the heroine and hero. I laughed out loud at her snappy
comebacks and could have slapped the hero for being so blind to her feelings for him.
Any book that engages your emotions like this one is worth keeping in my estimation.
