Russell Lyons has come home from Iraq after being injured by a roadside bomb. He has
no memory of who he was before waking in a hospital in Germany. He is trying to
recover his former life with his fiancée, Heather, and his position in the community.

Cynthia Meadows has had a crush on Russell since high school. Cynthia is now a
reporter for the local newspaper and it is her assignment to write an article on the
hometown hero, Russell. She has always felt like an outsider and fears being ostracized
in the town she loves.

Cynthia offers her old High School newspapers to Russell as part of the ongoing
research for her article. Russell thinks that if he spends time with Cynthia, he might
regain his memory. He is confused by his feelings for Heather and Cynthia. How much
emotional damage will the new Russell cause before the old Russell’s memory returns?

Hometown Hero is one man’s journey to find himself, even if what he finds is something
he does not like. Russell is an emotionally conflicted character, confused about his past
and present. A facet of Cynthia’s character is the insecurity she has dealt with
concerning her looks and wanting the acceptance of her peers. The supporting
characters help round out the story, creating a depth that is believable. Robyn Anders
has written a story that will be appealing to all those who love modern-day romance.
Hometown Hero is a steal because it is worth more than a buck in my opinion.
