John Weathers, also known as The Judge, meets Deanna at a dinner party and is immediately attracted to her. When he finds out that she is working with the police on the serial killer murder case, he wants to get more involved and be there to protect her.

All she wanted was to be normal but that was not going to happen for Deanna in New Orleans. From the start of her journey she gets involved in a murder case and has some very interesting experiences. She still does not know if she wants a normal job or if helping the dead will be her new profession. Can John and the other friends she has made help her decide?

What happens when you put an ex-priest, an ex-catholic schoolgirl, a drag queen and a judge together? A thrilling ride from the very beginning. The plot is interesting and the descriptions of New Orleans are vivid. The characters are so down to earth and real, they are life-like. Ms. Dragon has brought this tale to life with extraordinary brilliance. She leads the reader along without giving too much of the ending away, yet the clues are subtle. As the story unfolds the reader will find themselves drawn into the book and not want to stop reading.
