Danielle Goodman attends Warder Academy. She is a Warder Cadet training to be a vampire hunter. The warders protect the normals from the impaired. Danielle is haunted by the memory of her stepfather, who was an impaired vampire, killing her mother. She vows to protect the world from the impaired. Danielle graduates at the top of her class and is shocked when she is assigned to be a Herder. This is the lowest class of the Warders. They are assigned to keep the werewolves under control.

Dr. Carl Harriman is a werewolf. Before being impaired, he was a great scientist. He is released from prison only to do research to find the cure for the magic that has infected so many people.

When Danielle meets Carl for the first time she is very attracted to his human form. But she fights the attraction since he is impaired. Carl comes up with a plan for Olympic games between the normals and the impaired. Danielle’s boss, Joe Smealy, orders her to terminate Carl during the games. However, she can no longer fight the attraction, and they make love. Danielle has strong feelings for Carl, but then he shocks her by transforming into a wolf. Will she be able to accept Carl? When someone she trusts betrays Danielle, will Carl be able to save her from danger? Will the Normals and the Impaired find a way to live together?

Mr. Preece writes a book of fantasy and desire. It will keep you reading until the end to see if two people from different worlds can find a way to live together in harmony. It is paranormal with a new twist of magic.
