A beautiful, yet sometimes tragic story that will be sure to leave you reeling with emotion. This story gave me a new respect for the daily heroic deeds that our public service men and women do for all of us. It shows the dark side of the job as well as the light side in and away from the job. Ms. Morrison is well versed in the inner workings of the fire department and it shows in this story. I felt the chills and the uncertainty that she puts in words flowing through me with the turn of events. Her characters have a depth that is truly believable and heartfelt.
