When I read the first chapter of this book it brought to mind the feeling of being shattered by someone that you trusted. Juliana is a shell of her old self and needs to find a reason and the courage to move forward with her life. In this story Mrs. Laudan shows what it is to be a survivor and not just another victim, and that there is hope after all. This is a very touching story and for those that have ever doubted that time does heal, this is a book for you to read. I was captivated by the characters and the emotions overflowing from the story. Mrs. Laudan is a fantastic writer and I am certain that we will be reading more from her.
