Honey Calabrese is a New York doctor who has signed up to work in a rural town in
Garden, Virginia for one year. She is deep in debt, with a grandmother that needs care
and has no desire to move to a small town. Once she arrives and meets the patients,
her heart is touched by the welcome and warmth shown her by the residents of the town.
When she encounters the handsome Roarke Sullivan and his son, R.J., her heart stirs
even more, but is it enough to keep her as a permanent resident of the small town where
everyone seems to need her?
Roarke Sullivan has just invested money in a helicopter for the town of Garden and it's to
be used as an air rescue unit. He has also enlisted another doctor, through the rural
doctors program, to come to the small town. He is very dedicated to his son and the
town. After losing his wife years ago, his only concerns are his son, his mother and the
townspeople. When Honey arrives and grows close to his son, he starts seeing things
differently, although he wonders if she will stay. With the help of the town pulling
together, is it enough to keep them drawn together?
This was a great read, heart stirring and filled with love, action and family issues. The
last page had me wishing for more. When Honey and R.J. were trapped in the mine
during a rainstorm, my heart leaped as Roarke arrived. There were so many precious
moments in this book that made me smile, laugh and reach for tissues. Karen Troxel
has a way with words that made the whole book priceless and I look forward to reading
more of her works. Just One Night should be on the bestseller list.
