JUST FOR TONIGHT
Rating: 4 Cups
Ava Sinclair has never won a fight with fiancé, Richard. Running late for a meeting, she does not plan to take any lip when she takes Tiny Girl, her Great Dane, to his house to watch. Imagine her surprise when she catches Richard in bed with another woman.
Derek Connelly is trying to get over the death of his wife, Linda. It has been ten years, and is still hard living without Linda. Until a glimpse of the luscious beauty, Ava, helps comfort his heart.
Ava cannot believe Richard wants to know what she is doing at the apartment instead of at a meeting. That did not give him the green light to cheat. Six months before their wedding, and Ava wants nothing more to do with him. She heads to Cabo San Lucas, with her friend, Tess, for a pre-planned trip. There she meets a handsome hunk who helps her forget all about slime-ball Richard. After years of being lonely, Derek meets Ava and feels there is hope in his life. After she returns home, Richard tries to patch things up with her. Will Ava forgive him, or choose to be with Derek?
Just for Tonight is a magnificent read I will never forget. When Derek says, "I have finally found you," my heart melted. I love the interaction of Ava and Derek. When Ava confides to Tiny Girl about Derek, I could visualize the whole scene. I really enjoyed this book; the characters are fresh and real, and the story believable. As for Richard, I would love to squash him like a bug. Ms. Carmer crafts a story with feelings, desires, and learning to follow the heart. She brings an entertaining story with some fine points that made me enjoy every single page.
