Elizabeth Lane is a country wise young woman working in a medical clinic, and secretary to Dr. Jess Miller. She is currently finishing up her last courses to graduate and become a Physician Assistant. She has an older father that needs her nearby and wants to open up a clinic close to home, but needs to find a doctor to work with her in the country.
Dr. Jess Miller is an overworked, stressed out physician who is up for a promotion to be the director for the clinic he works in. He has a Jekyll and Hyde personality; one side he shows to his patients that love him, and the other is for those that work with him.
This is a fast paced story that gets you into the world of a local doctor who wants to make changes to help everyone benefit, the patients, and the bottom line for the clinic. Here comes Elizabeth Lane, his newly hired secretary with above average intelligence and a body to die for, just wanting to work and pay for her schooling to open her own clinic.
I loved this story so much I read it in one quick session. It is a pretty quick read, but I hope enjoyable for all. The main characters are fun and fresh. I like that it has a bit of a love triangle and love conquers all, because romance should still prevail in this day and age. Elizabeth and Jess cannot help but fall in love, with her country ways and his dry humor it is a charming tale. Happily ever after can happen and also tells of today’s modern mores from innocence to jaded hearts. It leaves you with a good feeling.
