When Amber awakes to find her boss dead in her bed and the murder weapon in her
hand, her mind is a blank. She immediately packs a bag and runs away. Scared, she
applies for a nanny position hoping it will give her some kind of safe shelter. She has no
idea that the man who hires her will set a blaze to her heart and insist on helping. Amber
is afraid that her whereabouts will not be good for the family, but her heart insists she
stay. The amnesia has stolen her past but her heart tells us the new home is a good
place to put down roots. Will the real killer strike before Luke can save her?
Luke needs a nanny to help with his child. When he hires a young woman for the
position, he has no idea that she is running from something and has amnesia. She
needs help and his heart tells him to trust her. He believes she has been framed. Can he
trust her alone with his daughter and his heart?
This was a wonderful book. It was intense and held your attention to the last page. The
rodeo scene with Amber, Alicia, and Luke had my heart racing. The bonding between
Amber and Alicia was tender. It was like they belonged together as a family.
Ms. Lakes has not only written a story with tender emotion, but has made the characters
all very believable. Ms. Lakes’ writing draws you into the story from the beginning all the
way to the last page. I did not want to put this book down. I look forward to reading more
of her fabulous books. Her writing puts you in complete tune with the characters.
Excellent.
