Fleur Stanthorpe leaves her home of Australia to visit England for the summer. It has
been a fantasy of hers to live with the Brits while opening a bookshop café. A cancer
survivor, this is her chance to live her dream before returning home. She did not count
on meeting an Irishman that would send sparks to her heart.
Patrick Donnelly owns a restaurant not far from where Fleur lives. He has been divorced
for five years and hopes to find a woman to spend the rest of his life. The moment he
sets eyes on Fleur he is certain she is the one.
Fleur is excited to be living in England. After all the heartache she endured with the
breast cancer, she realizes there is much living left to do. Patrick plans to extend his
restaurant business. He is looking for the perfect woman to share his life. He and Fleur
are instantly drawn to each other in a summer romance. Fleur comes out of her shell and
discusses her breast cancer with Patrick. And he opens up about his divorce. Together
they must decide their future when Fleur returns home.
Long Distance Love is a most remarkable read. The style of writing is exquisite. I love
the part where Patrick mentioned how the curvy, woman with the hazel eyes made him
forget his name. And with Fleur how just the drift of his soft cologne made her heart melt.
There were just little things in the story that made it so exceptional. The secondary
characters with the parents were a great addition. Anne Whitfield writes stories that
touch the heart. She is an incredible writer who takes believable challenging characters
and spins tales that get better like fine wine and I believe this is an extraordinary read.
