Walking a dusty road, Jenny Smith has only one thought; get to the Double H guest ranch and apply for the cook’s job she desperately needs. With no water, Jenny is at the point of collapse by the time she arrives. Trouble is, Jenny has just left hospital, physically okay but with very little memory of who she is.

Joe McIntyre is shocked when this slight woman collapses from heat exhaustion at his ranch. Something about her begs for help, so he takes her to the main house and calls the doctor. Time enough to find out what she wants; his first aim is to see her well again.

Discovering Jenny has little recollection of her past does not deter Joe. He sees signs of an abused woman, as with the abused horses he rescues and heals. But Jenny is much more than a horse. Joe begins to have strong feelings for her. Jenny loves the ranch and is pleased when Joe gives her the chance to try out for the job. Somehow, she knows she can cook. But what is this terror she has when tall dark men near her? Luckily, Joe isn’t a tall, dark man. He is just perfect. But his feelings for her are those of pity, aren’t they?

I truly loved this romance. Contemporary, yet not urban, the pull of the ranch and the horses drew me in. Joe and Jenny are such wonderful characters, full of real emotion and true grit. I believe Leanne Karella is set to become a huge name in romance writing. You simply will not want to be disturbed once you start reading Lost Lady. This story is alive with wonderful descriptions and real life feelings to which every reader can relate. First chance I get I am reading another Leanne Karella.
