Jayne Seatoun is touring England. Loving history, Jayne is hoping to see some great sites. But the one site Jayne wanted to see is closed off, so she sneaks in to look at some old crypts. Jayne is near one particular crypt when she hears a voice calling to her and she feels strongly about it. The next thing Jayne knows, she has fallen through time in the year 1532, with Henry the eighth and no indoor plumbing. Jayne is helped by a tired warrior, Lord Callum Broderick. And although Jayne is still not sure what has happened, she is strongly attracted to Callum.
Lord Callum Broderick helps a beautiful redhead woman who talks funny and has a sharp tongue, but nothing can stop Callum from being attracted to Jayne Seatoun of Massachusetts. Callum has bigger problems, with more wars and the king not caring about anything but his mistress Anne Boylen. Callum is tired of warring and wants only to go home and take care of his family. Jayne is fast becoming important to Callum, but he is still not sure what to believe of Jayne.
When Callum comes home, he has Jayne with him, and although still not sure it is a good idea, he fast becomes captivated by her. Jayne and Callum both are fighting their attractions, but when Callum is called to court and his king, Callum takes Jayne and his sister Alice with him, only to have danger dogging their heels. When Alice is kidnapped, Callum enlists the help of the king, but it is only when Jayne puts herself in danger to help him, that she realizes she loves Callum, and now is willing to give her life to help him.
Explosive, exciting, and thrilling read. This is a riotous adventure that is filled with plenty of danger, intrigue, and romance. Ms. Beckenham does an outstanding job of making the time travel seem real and describing the past era with such vivid imagery you feel you are there. Snappy and sometimes hilarious dialog this story is always entertaining. Incredible characters and important secondary characters carry this tale with some surprises. I loved this story; if you are a fan of time travel or this is your first, you will thoroughly enjoy this tale.
