Lieutenant Velvet Meadows is known for being a diamond and ice type of person at Spaceforce. It is because she is a survivor of a Grundian attack where she was barely able to escape death after ninety days of bombardment at Etiens.

Graham “Gray” Hamm goes by his codename ‘Hammer‘. He is a Spaceforce pilot. He and his three wing pilots are on Earth Base Ten for a three month stint of biennial training on solid ground. He is captivated by Velvet the first time he sees her and is determined to have her, he tells his men.

At the base, they are making a non-lethal weapon against the Grundians. Gray, Velvet and Jed “Cajun” Castille are assigned a special mission to infiltrate the Grundian High Command base. They are escaped “prisoners” of the Spaceforce for giving out the weapon name “Velvet Hammer” over the air during a Grundian attack on the base. Everything goes as planned except for one thing the three are forced together to not be tortured but humiliated and drugged out of their minds to get the information with a sex drug. They endure a lot in their confinement from a ménage a trois to almost dying in an crippled spacecraft.

The second in a series, it mentions Saxon, a cousin to Jed in this book. I now want to find and read the first one. We are left with a good but open ending, I am hoping for another sequel. Normally, I do not buy menage books, but will read scenes in other books and this was well done. I loved the stirring characters with their personalities, rivalries, friendships, forced intimacy issues, even battling aliens. With a futuristic twist this is a must for menage fans, it has it all and done with great taste.
