MARRYING UP Holly Hastings decides one morning to write her obituary. It is just an experiment; but after the words are put on paper, she realizes her life is not a blazing trail of glory. She is twenty-eight, single, and bored at work. There is only one thing left to do; leave her job and head out to the coast. Remy has a two-bedroom apartment for rent. He agrees to allow Holly and her friend stay if they will help out with the renovations. He likes what she says in her personal statement when she fills out the paperwork to rent the apartment. He thinks Holly is attractive and would like to get to know her better. Can he convince her that waiting for The One is hard enough without holding out for The Only? I loved this book. It was cute and witty. The part about Holly’s mother, Flipper, and Oprah had me in stitches. I could just picture the scene. I enjoyed the scenes between Holly and Remy when she met him for the first time. There was chemistry between the two that made the book more enjoyable to read. Ms. Rose has a flare for writing that jumps off the pages. It was a book that I hated to see end. It was a very enjoyable book. Ms. Rose’s superb writing is very realistic. She makes the characters very believable all the way to the end of the book. A captivating book that will make you laugh out loud. Cherokee
