NOCTURNAL URGES Isabel is pretty happy with her life. She has a great boyfriend and a good job. She has never been bitten by a vampire, so her boyfriend takes her to a local vampire bar for the experience. After all, everyone has done it. Ryan has been a vampire for over three hundred years and has never lost control of his urges, until he meets Isabel. She is the one woman that he can look on as more than food, or a way to make a living. There has been a string of vampire attacks around the club Nocturnal Urges. One of the vampires working there has a history of violence, but is he the only one? Ms. Donald has written a compelling vampire romance. Ryan and Isabel struggle to overcome obstacles to be together. Isabel also has to overcome her prejudices in regards to vampires and their way of life. All of the characters are well drawn, particularly the main characters. Detective Freitas is also a very sympathetic character and Duane, the clueless boyfriend, is very realistic. This one is definitely a keeper. Maura
