When Elise’s boat capsizes and she is washed ashore, the valuable evidence she has
must be kept secret.  She cannot allow others to know that she is a spy. There is
someone after her, but Broderick takes her in and offers her a safe haven. In time she
becomes closer to him. When there is a dinner party at Broderick’s home, the man who
has been hunting her sits across the table. She has no choice now but to turn to
Broderick for protection.

When a young woman washes ashore near Broderick’s castle, he has no idea she is
the woman who has the information he needs. He soon informs her that her secrets are
safe with him. Broderick is determined to protect her even if he has to propose
marriage. He never imagined they would grow close enough to experience strong
feelings for each other. When she has to leave to go behind enemy lines once again, he
fears the only woman he has truly cared for will be gone forever.

Intrigue, suspense, and romance with each flip of the page. An outstanding book that I
could not put down until I discovered what had happened to the two lovers.  A clever and
well written story that keeps you guessing until the end, then makes you shout for joy. A
truly excellent book read. Jennifer Mueller has a winner with Once Upon a Spy. A
wonderfully written romance story that truly excels.
