Helen Slade, an American agent for the Thoth agency, is sent to check on ex-agent Grace Shaw, who married Carter Annis, alpha leader of his werewolf pack, who then fulfilled a pack prophecy. Helen is assigned to clear out the case files of Grace and then to watch the Annises in Cornwall, including their bedroom antics.

Spencer Kingston is a striking blonde, blue-eyed English alpha werewolf, cousin to Carter and a member of the Paranormal Mates Society. This is an online community where those who are paranormally different, human and not, might be able to find true love online and meet their life mates. He places an ad to attract the redheaded spy he has seen outside. She meets him and he is intrigued. He now wants her in his bed.

Her mission to follow Grace leads Helen to be involved not only with Spencer intimately, but also to help investigate another set of murders. She has teamed up with Spencer and his family to find the killers involved in the death of an agent, a werewolf, and others collaborating to solve this case.

This is a very explicit and steamy story, for those readers that love this series and the heat factor, it is perfect. This was my introduction to this series and I found that this can be a stand alone book. It has enough background information from the other story of Grace and Carter that I had no problem following it. One highlight is a masquerade ball that Helen saw in a dream. It was coming true before her eyes, and now she can save her love and everyone else. It leaves us wondering if her precognitive dream means she might also be paranormal too. This is a great treat for anyone to pick up and enjoy.
