Eliza Honeyfield is traveling to the Caribbean with her aunt, uncle, and cousin. Almost to
their destination the ship comes across what seems to be a friendly sail. But at the last
minute the Jolly Roger is hoisted. Eliza is overcome with fear, however she is, strangely
enough, excited. She becomes even more intrigued the minute she sees the pirate
captain.
Lieutenant Morgan Price is the Captain of the Black Hawk pirate ship. When he and his
men come upon the Bristol Maid all they want is a little food. When Morgan sees a wide
eyed young woman eyeing him up he cannot resist teasing her a little bit. She proves
even more tempting when she tends to the wound her uncle gives him during a brief
scuffle aboard deck.
Morgan is enchanted by Eliza and his feelings are affirmed when he speaks with the
ship’s crew about the way her uncle treats her. They explain how they try to keep an eye
out for her. A respected naval hero’s daughter, while she is on board their ship. Morgan
then sees to it that her uncle is to be given his due when they reach their island
destination.
What woman does not at one point or another daydream of having her very own pirate
claim them below deck? One who is really a good guy at heart, a pirate they can call
their own? Eliza is one lucky lady to come across Lieutenant Price. The love scene is
scorching hot, but tender and sweet as well. The secondary characters serve their
purpose for such a short story. Prepare to Be Boarded is a keeper.
