PROPHECY: CAELESTIS & AUROREA
F E HEATON
Rating: 5 cups
Prophecy, a young woman not wholly vampire, whose mate Valentine was taken from her, must hunt the vampires responsible without support or assistance. The only one prepared to help is the man whose lord she killed; she declines his help and offer of protection.
Prophecy’s enemies, who hope to discover the best way to destroy her, take Valentine prisoner. He is determined to stay loyal to her no matter what the cost to himself.
After Prophecy’s magical powers control her and lives are lost, she is abandoned by those who should stand by her in fulfilling her destiny. She journeys from continent to continent in search of Valentine, fighting many battles along the way. No timid miss, this contemporary woman is a bloodthirsty warrior when the need arises. Her visions tell her that Valentine is in great danger. Will she be able to find him in time?
I highly commended Ms Heaton for this wonderful story; more chick lit than romance, although it certainly has that in spades! However, Prophecy does not, as most heroines tend to, sit idly by waiting for the hero to save her, solve her problems, or drive the blood-thirsty action forward. The author has written the heroine as a character more than capable of kicking her share of the butts in any battle, without diminishing the hero’s role as a strong man complete with all the alpha qualities we expect. The words within the pages of this book are so well crafted it is more like watching a movie than reading a book. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Reads like this do not come along often, so do not pass up the opportunity to be thoroughly entertained by a gripping yarn and awed by the talent of this author!
