Kelly works for a vineyard owned by her newlywed friend, Lissa, and her husband, Atticus. Business is brisk most of the time, but a recent houseguest, Master Vampire-Marc Latour, has a way unnerving her. She does not mind that they are all vampires, it is just that she clashes with Marc constantly. Secretly she is enamored of this oh so handsome devil.
Marc Latour is a six hundred year old vampire visiting his friends. From the moment he meets Kelly he is inexplicably drawn to her, and he finds her spirited rebukes charming. After living for over six centuries, he has grown tired of his lonely existence and has contemplated his demise. Atticus divulges he felt the same way, until he met his mate in Lissa, and implores Marc not to give up just yet.
Kelly and Marc find that they have a lot in common and they discuss Marc’s recent conversation with Atticus about his possibly meeting his mate. As far fetched as it sounds, Marc feels that it may be Kelly, and the only way they would know would be during love making. Will Kelly acquiesce?
Ms. Bianca d’Arc has written a beautiful romance complete with a feisty heroine and a devastatingly handsome hero. The characters are well rounded and the premise is unique. I became enchanted with the story from page one and the slow build up of tension made the conclusion feel like a soft landing. I would definitely recommend this story to those vampire fans who love a good vampire yarn.
