Tara is an archeologist whose latest project has been cancelled due to her ex-lover’s
philandering with all the interns. To save her career, she takes a lucrative assignment
digging in the yard of a rich man who believes in aliens. Oh well, the money is good.
Kadir, an archeologist, has been sent from his planet to retrieve the Relic of the Heart,
left on Earth after a disastrous mission by one of his ancestors. He is forbidden to get
involved with Earth women. Too bad the archeologist he has to work with is not only a
woman, but also one who is too attractive to ignore.
Tara and Kadir are hired by the wealthy Alistair to uncover the relics left behind by the
Carthians, Kadir’s people. Although they resist the attraction, both of them want more
than a working relationship. Alistair wants to spend his declining years on Carthia.
Kadir wants to convince Tara to accompany them, no matter how much his superiors
forbid it. Tara has little holding her on Earth. Kadir and Carthia await.
This is an interesting trip into the New Mexico of the future. Both Tara and Kadir are
great characters, very professional, but looking for more than just a physical
relationship. The author writes both sensual and humorous scenes and makes them fit
well into the plot. Overall, this is an enjoyable read.
