"Long term" is not in Julian Harrison’s vocabulary, and after spending a year in a relationship, she decides it is time to move on. Spilling coffee on a gorgeous stranger in a coffee shop in a small town changes Julian’s life. She meets new friends and the man of her dreams. It helps that he makes an offer she cannot refuse.
David Colter is a recluse. He hates people and admits it freely. His parents left a will stipulating he must marry by the age of thirty-five in order to inherit their fortune. Fighting for ten years to find a loophole, David and his lawyer/friend, Ray, must admit defeat unless they can find someone who will go along with the plan.
The spiritual activity surrounding Julian and David is weird. Julian is having dreams of her deaths that took place in her past lives. The couple intends only to live together, looking like they are happily married. The ghosts of the Colter house have other plans for the newlyweds. With help from some very delightful characters, the couple find a way to battle the spirits and make peace with their feelings for one another.
This story captured my attention and kept me engrossed throughout. The relationship that David and Julian share is lighthearted and fun, yet real enough to be believable. Julian is a strong heroine. David is the man she needs him to be. The characters brought this book to life as they danced through my mind. Ms. Druga-Johnston uses a combination of humor and paranormal to form a tale that touches your heart as well as your funny bone.
